HVAC/ELECTRICAL SPECIALIST

PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, an electric generation and transmission cooperative serving Alabama and Northwest Florida, is seeking a HVAC/Electrical Specialist in the Safety Services Department at the Headquarters Office located in Andalusia, Alabama. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance at PowerSouth Headquarters, Point A Lodge, Roby House, and district offices heating and cooling systems, electrical circuitry, related refrigeration equipment, fire alarm and miscellaneous equipment to ensure continuous operation and optimal efficiency of equipment.

Employment is subject to a negative drug test, background check and completion of a comprehensive application for employment. PowerSouth offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits program.

Applicants should have completed post secondary courses in HVAC, electrical circuitry and electronics. Applicants must hold the EPA Section 608 Technician Universal Certification and must also possess a valid driver's license. Applicants must be capable of performing required major and minor preventative maintenance to central heating and cooling units, window air conditioning units and other electrical and mechanical equipment. Requires ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, etc. Applicants must have ability to work independently and to make timely decisions as needed. Requires the ability to operate a vehicle in a constant state of alertness, safely and without being a direct threat to self or others, either with or without any reasonable accommodations.

Employer will assist with relocation costs.
