Berkeley Lab's (LBNL) Accelerator Technology & Applied Physics Division (ATAP) has an immediate and exciting opening for a Postdoctoral Scholars to join the team Berkeley Center for Magnet Technology (BCMT) has designed and built key components of R&D magnet systems for science and engineering programs, providing vital underpinnings for many aspects of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science mission. We are an interdivisional organization managed jointly by the ATAP and the Engineering Divisions of LBNL. With its unique integration of accelerator physicists and magnet researchers, magnet design engineers, and fabrication teams, the center fosters rapid progress in the development, and reliable delivery, of new magnet technology. In this role, you will perform work within the BCMT as a key member of a team consisting of physicists, engineers, technologists, and students. You will be advancing our understanding of state-of-the-art superconducting accelerator magnets by helping conduct R&D and advanced characterization of superconducting magnet cables.
