Department FACILITY OPERATIONS-IUB (BL-PHYP-IUBLA) Department Information The mission of the IU Bloomington Facility Operations is to operate and maintain a high-quality physical environment to enhance student learning, faculty teaching and research. We serve other non-academic departments, and we support the University's service to the community and citizens of Indiana. We are a service organization dedicated to the success and satisfaction of IUB faculty, staff, students and campus visitors. Our responsibilities include maintenance, operation and improvement of buildings, grounds and utility systems, custodial care, and engineering support. Our staff members are our most valuable asset. Learn more here. Job Summary Monitor Control Panel building automation systems. Recognize and respond to problems, including calling out emergency personnel, answering customer requests, dispatching staff and contacting other departmental representatives. Maintain daily Control Panel log. Create service requests. Check out keys and temporary parking permits. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Ability to operate computers, including Windows, MMS, Outlook, building automation and alarm systems. Ability to use two-way radios, phones and emergency elevator phone systems. Ability to multitask in a team work environment. Detail oriented. Excellent interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications One year of building maintenance experience. Prior work in facility control systems, building automation systems, HVAC and electrical systems, building maintenance/construction. Working Conditions / Demands This position requires almost constant visual work, with occasional reaching and fingering. Most time is spent indoors. Work Location Bloomington, Indiana Work Hours 3rd shift: Monday - Friday, 12:00 a.m. (Midnight) - 8:00 a.m. There will be two weeks of training on 1st shift/days, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. followed by two weeks of training on 2nd shift, 4:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. (Midnight).
