The Impact You'll Make in this Role

The Systems Technician is responsible for maintaining control systems, PLC logic, electrical components, robotics and machine control, equipment reliability, parameter set up, and diagnosing machine behavior. The position of Systems Technician provides first response technical support for maximizing equipment uptime, troubleshooting equipment failures while analyzing performance and suggesting design improvements to improve the reliability of our assets. As a member of the Plant Engineering Team, the Systems Technician is required to interface and demonstrate teamwork with all departments including: Engineering (Process and Project), Operations, Logistics, etc.

As a Systems Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel in diagnosing, troubleshooting, determining root causes of failures, and eliminating equipment problems, Advanced support to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve systems components. Will utilize ultrasonic equipment to inspect for lubrication, air leaks, bearings, etc. and the oil analysis program.

• Leadership for the development and deployment of our Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, including analyzing available data to improve job plans and frequency

• Assist in the training of maintenance and production personnel on the appropriate use, maintenance and repair of equipment

• Troubleshoot and solve complex electrical systems and design problems. Update wiring schematics and prints

• Analyze and interpret signals from log files to improve equipment performance and reliability

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Associate degree in an engineering related field (Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, Robotics & Automation, etc)
• 3+ year Experience with reliability analysis and predictive (PdM) technologies

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Must have the ability to read, understand, and update electrical prints.
• Ability to communicate, both written and oral, technical information to a diverse audience
• Must possess an advanced understanding of controls logic, PLC programming and networking systems
