Position Function: To assist with installing, maintaining and repairing complex security systems, facilities, and related equipment. Salary Grade: 11 Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department. Department Profile: The Department of Housing and Residence Life strives to create a "home away from home" where students are individually and collectively challenged and supported in the journey to become mature, contributing citizens in a global community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assist in operating, repairing, and installing basic security and specialty systems such as automatic door systems and smoke detectors. Minimum Qualifications: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Working Conditions and Physical Effort * Frequent - externally imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one's control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; irregular and extended hours may be anticipated, including nights and weekends; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position.
