Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Telemetry Technician for the Medicine Department at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The primary purpose of the Telemetry Technologist position is to provide high-level confidential direct patient care by assisting in the management of remote monitoring and remote interrogation of cardiovascular implantable electronic devices, wearable electronic devices, maintaining equipment, arranging services, and assuring appropriate documentation.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Responsible for managing the Remote Monitoring(RM) and Remote Interrogation (RI) of Cardiovascular Implantable Electronic Devices (CIED).
Enroll patients with CIED into RM System.
Monitor the device Company websites including but not limited to: Medtronic, Merlin, Boston Scientific and Biotronik, for pre-specified alerts.
Review and enter data from RI into the EMR device form.
Minimum Education and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Three (3) to six (6) months of healthcare experience or training in the use of electrocardiograph equipment.
Successful completion of a program in the specialty.
Prior experience in the reading of EKG strips.
