The Superior Court of Fulton County Georgia (“Court”) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Audio/Visual Technician. Superior Court is Georgia's busiest trial court of general jurisdiction. The Court seeks to provide a forum in which legal disputes between citizens can be resolved in a fair and efficient process with attention to equal access, impartiality, efficiency, and safety. After joining the Court, you will become part of a fast-paced team dedicated to providing the citizens of Fulton County with the service they deserve. Job Summary: The purpose of this classification is to design, implement and maintain audio-visual technology infrastructure in courtrooms, jury services, conference rooms and other facilities used for judicial processes or other approved meetings or activities. Qualifications: Requires specialized experience the audio/visual field, including A/V switching, processing, control systems, conferencing, equipment rack configuration, control programming (microphones, amplifiers, hardware/software, digital recording, video routers and markers, computer/video interface). Networking systems, (video and audio visual) via TCP/IP. Ability to research, isolate, and make corrective recommendations of courtroom technology problems using a variety of programming skills and hardware troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of videoconferencing applications. Ability to troubleshoot devices such as serial or hardware device level interfaces. Experience with Crestron/Extron/Lectrosonic systems and programming. Experience in designing of audiovisual systems and audio systems software and hardware. Ability to read and understand electronic plans and schematics and review or generate the same with a thorough understanding and knowledge of signal flow principles and concepts. Strong written, verbal and graphic communication skills. Ability to training users on equipment and make presentations to groups.
High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in theater arts or a related field; supplemented by two years of experience in audio/visual, theater or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Associate’s Degree or technical diploma in related field. Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) from AVIXA or leading manufacturer in the A/V industry. Proficient understanding of LAN/WAN hardware and software, fiber, wireless networking as necessary for the implementation and maintenance of audio-visual technology and systems. Related experience in the judicial industry. Performance Aptitudes: Data Utilization: Requires the ability to evaluate, audit, deduce, and/or assess data using established criteria. Requires the ability to provide semi-formal training to others in specific areas using furnished teaching materials. Technology: Requires the ability to use spreadsheet, database, word processing, presentation, and other software to research legal issues, organize and analyze information, prepare reports, and create and deliver effective presentations. Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information. Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs. Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Involves semi-routine standardized work with some latitude for independent judgment concerning choices of action. Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of generally pre-defined duties which are often characterized by frequent change. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position. Licensing Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. Physical Requirements: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and racks. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing.
