Datacom Technician II - Tufts Technology Services - (20001745) Description Department Summary: Tufts Technology Services (TTS) is a university-wide service organization committed to delivering technology solutions in support of Tufts' mission of teaching, learning, research, innovation, and sustainability. Job Summary: Responsible to manage the physical cable plant infrastructure, as well as the installation of active data communications and electronic networking equipment in communications rooms and routing hubs. This position will place and maintain cables in tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, conduit, buried, and aerial as required. Perform tests on cable for certification and troubleshoot using various equipment such as, Fluke DSX5000, and OTDR's. Install and deploy cabling and equipment in accordance with design plans and work orders. Conduct wireless network field surveys using tools such as the AirMagnet Survey Pro and the Air Check to measure signal strength and to generate wireless "heat maps". This position participates in the on-call rotation and is not eligible for remote work. Qualifications Basic Requirement:
