The Systems Technician supports Major Wireless Communications Systems, and Related Products sales and service personnel in coordinating installation, programming and service/task fulfillments. They willfully understand and comply with company policies and procedures.
The responsibilities and duties of this position include:
Maintenance and repair of Motorola ASTRO P25 Trunked Systems Infrastructure
Maintenance of Motorola Gold Elite and MCC7500 consoles
Support installation and maintenance of Motorola Logging Recorders (NICE preferred)
Support of installation teams and commissioning of Motorola ASTRO 7x Systems
Working knowledge and experience with microwave & fiber systems.
Knowledge of T1 and Ethernet transport networks
Familiar with the Ethernet OSI model
Working knowledge of emergency power systems (Generators, UPS, & Batteries)
Site walks of job sites to collect information required for potential solutions
Install, repair, program, align, maintain existing and future communications systems and equipment
Participate in Complex Projects
Maintain a daily work and time log tracking
Maintain above average customer relations
Participate in 24 hours on call customer maintenance contract program
Participate in after-hours service and installation work as needed
Working knowledge of Motorola Astro XTS/XTL & APX subscriber radios
Required: Minimum 5 years of experience in the installation and maintenance of Land Mobile Radio Systems (LMR)
Graduation from a certified vocational school with an emphasis in the field of electronic systems preferred
Experience in working with teams on completing projects on time/scope/budget
Experience and familiar with Motorola Astro, P-25, “Gold Elite,” SmartZone, Trunking, Wireless, LMR, Dc Power, 7x Motorola Systems, MCC console, NICE Logging Recorder, Motorola audio recorders, Exacom, Eventide
Certified Electronics Tech (CET) required or 10 years of experience working with LMR is required
Motorola Certifications preferred
