Lawrence Berkeley National Lab's (LBNL) Advanced Light Source - Upgrade (ALS-U) Division has an opening for a Technical Project Manager to join the team.
The ALS has been a global leader in soft x-ray science for more than two decades, and the upgrade project (ALS-U) currently underway will endow the facility with state-of-the-art x-ray capabilities and ensure future leadership. You will join the project team that delivers new and upgraded experimental facilities for the ALS, and will have responsibility for defining scope areas, developing cost and schedule, and interacting with a large, cross-disciplinary team to find solutions for complex issues involving multiple project subsystems. In this exciting role, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and achievement of all work within one or more experimental facility Control Accounts, valued in the $10-15M range, and will be the responsible authority for Control Account scope and its successful execution to completion. To accomplish this, you will review, evaluate, approve, and monitor cost, schedule and technical scope baselines, using methods established by the organization that ensure timely and accurate earned value reporting. Furthermore, you are a Team Lead, who will determine methods and procedures for new assignments, and coordinate activities of assigned personnel on a daily basis. This position will be hired at a level commensurate with the business needs and the skills, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.
