Perform skilled work in all phases of electrical maintenance, repair and installation of wiring, fixtures and equipment including repairing or replacing motors, motor controllers, conduit, wire and tubing connecting systems, lighting controls, and assisting with HVAC systems electronics repair and maintenance. Rewire and replace outdated wiring and equipment and modify electrical circuitry and/or equipment to meet changing needs. Read blueprints and specifications. Assure compliance with regulations (building codes, electrical codes, fire codes) and department and UNL policies and procedures. Trouble shoot equipment needing repair, perform event setup, perform other building maintenance as needed and other duties as assigned by supervisor. Irregular hours and working in inclement weather may be required. Must meet the requirements to be authorized to drive a University vehicle. Must be available 24/7 by cell phone to assist in Campus Recreation emergencies.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school diploma plus five years of experience with commercial electrical and mechanical systems; equivalent education/experience considered. State of Nebraska Journeyman Electrician License. Knowledge of building systems and construction including electrical systems, fire alarm systems, access control systems, HVAC control systems, and all applicable codes and supporting systems. Knowledge of equipment repair and general building maintenance. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Training for working in confined spaces, safety, CPR, AED, and first aid are preferred.
