The Department of Medical Physics is seeking an Inventory Management Technician for its Biomedical Engineering Team.The main function of this role is to assist with the onboarding of medical equipment. This includes taking inventory, setting up medical devices, and managing data about these devices .
We offer direct and ancillary patient care services throughout a network of 25 sites: 18 Manhattan Sites, 3 New Jersey sites, 3 Long Island sites, 1 Westchester site. Our team manages over 35,000+ medical devices across the network. The number continues to grow as new sites and new services emerge.
Inspects, verifies performance, and assists in the installation of new equipment; logs new devices into the computer inventory database upon receipt and inspection.
Assists with the testing and evaluation of the electro-medical apparatus prior to purchase by the Center.
Performs incoming inspection procedure(s) and electrical safety testing of biomedical electronic equipment. For vendor-serviced equipment, coordinates the incoming inspection and acceptance testing with the vendor and the owner/user departments.
Assists engineer and lead technician in the development and preparation of maintenance, calibration, and test procedures.
Reports all problems, feedback from other departments, safety concerns, and suggestions to supervisors as they occur.
Provides operational, safety information, and/or training to other departments as required.
Contact vendors and suppliers as required.
Help with maintaining current technical literature and documentation for hospital and clinical engineering laboratory equipment.
Initiates purchase requisitions for additional/replacement parts and laboratory supplies as needed.
Manages out-of-box failures and initiates return process as needed
Utilizes technologies for locating and tracking of inventory items.
Performs other job-related duties as requested.
Travel across MSK sites, as needed.
Equivalent of 2 year AAS degree in Biomedical Electronic Technology
two years of relevant experience
Knowledge of Medical Devices and Testing equipment (oscilloscopes; digital multimeters, signal generators, etc.)
