Dunwoody College of Technology currently has the need for a part time adjunct instructor within its Surveying & Civil Engineering Technology program housed in the Construction Sciences and Building Technology Department. These instructors will be responsible for delivering and maintaining curriculum in line with current industry standards and practices, advising students, developing curriculum, and building and maintaining relationships with industry. Courses are taught in daytime and evening. Dunwoody’s Surveying & Civil Engineering Technology program provides education to students seeking employment in the surveying and civil engineering technology field. Infrastructure needs will require many technicians in the coming years. The successful candidate will have the ability to disseminate the technical information required to the students along with applying the candidate’s own industry experiences to reinforce the prevalent theories in the program.
Course and section details are below for the spring 2021 semester: SCVL1220 Transportation & Municipal Design. Utilize the principles of civil design with industry software to create elements of transportation and municipal design. This class is scheduled to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays online from 12-2:50pm. We can flexibly move this class to accommodate the adjunct’s time.
SCVL2140 Civil / Surveying Topics. Topics in land surveying and civil engineering presented and examined through lectures, speakers, and field trips to develop an awareness of current trends, issues, and the future of the surveying and civil design industries. This class does not yet have a scheduled time. We can accommodate what will work for the adjunct.
SCVL2260 Site & Subdivision Design. Utilize the principles of civil design with industry software to create elements of site design, including the design of subdivisions and study of the subdivision process. This class is scheduled to meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 330-530pm. We can flexibly move this class to accommodate the adjunct’s time.
CMGT4220 Utility and Construction Design. Examine the infrastructure systems related to public works projects produced in the United States; presented and discussed through a series of speakers, field trips and readings in order for construction professionals to realize the importance of our infrastructure systems and how they affect our society, including an analysis of current and future needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelors degree in Construction Management or Architecture or related field • 3+ years industry experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Master’s degree (in progress, or completed) in related field |
