1. Diagnoses, services, calibrates and repairs pneumatic, electric and electronic control systems associated with controls and automation of the power plants and building utilities metering systems using prints and schematics. Retrofits and installs local electrical and pneumatic control and instrumentation systems including wiring and tubing. Diagnoses the above systems-related problems locally or via the controls and automation system. Maintains and installs controls and automation systems hardware and field equipment. 2. Reads, understands, uses and updates blueprints, drawings, schematics and procedures as outlined in service manuals with emphasis on instrument calibration procedures. Has working knowledge of systems being controlled. Uses application software and color graphics related to control and automation, problems and systems. Informs Plant Manager of all problems and field changes. 3. Determines the manpower and material requirements and the means and methods to be used in accomplishing work assignments and recommends changes. 4. Maintains cleanliness of work areas. 5. Uses tools and tests equipment of the trade. 6. Maintains spare parts inventory and orders parts as required. 7. Coordinates with Watch Engineer when locking and tagging plant systems. 8. Performs related duties as required or assigned. 9. Observes safety standards and practices. 10. Observes and assists outside contractors for compliance with Yale standards. 11. Trains new hires/transferees regarding proper maintenance and safety standards and practices. 12. Employees in this classification are subject to emergency call back procedures twenty-four hours a day, as may be required in order to maintain continuous operation of a facility. 13. May perform other duties as assigned.
