The Water Quality Division is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to supervise, assign, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for providing for the installation, inspection, maintenance, repair, and replacement of electrical and electronic components, wiring, equipment and devices used in the water and wastewater systems within the Public Works Department; and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates personnel; plans, directs, coordinates, and reviews the electrical maintenance work plan for the Water Quality and Distribution & Collection Divisions; plans and layouts work projects; administer a predictive and preventative maintenance program for all electrical equipment and electronic components; respond to and resolve inquiries and complaints; maintain an inventory of electrical maintenance tools, supplies and equipment; and participate in the preparing and administering of the annual budget. The successful applicant must be able to wear an air-purifying respirator and serve an emergency contact 24 hours a day.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This schedule may vary based on operational needs.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, and a Federal and State criminal history background check.

Two (2) years of formal electrical and/or electronics training beyond high school or related area or equivalent additional direct experience and training
Six (6) years of relevant experience in electrical and electronic installation, inspection, maintenance, repair, and replacement in major industrial processing system
A state-issued journey-level electrician’s license, or a journey level certification in instrumentation or industrial electronics from such widely recognized organizations as the International Society of Electronic Technicians (ISCET), the International Society of Automation (ISA), or the Association Electronics Technicians (ETA) International, or an acceptable equivalent certification
A valid Montana driver’s license or the ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of employment
Certification from the State of Montana as a Class 1B Water Treatment Operator or 1C Wastewater Treatment Operator
Two (2) years supervisory experience
Additional Salary Information: Salary Range: $28.85 - $35.04. Salary at hiring will be dependent upon the applicant’s education and experience (this salary range reflects steps 1 and 5 of a 7-step pay scale) plus excellent benefits.
