The department of Laboratory Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time, day shift, UNIT SUPPLY TECHNICIAN 2. This position will be responsible for supply chain operations in the UW Virology Laboratory. They will receive, put away, requisition, pick, distribute, and deliver general and laboratory supplies and equipment, as well as work closely with testing personnel to maintain accurate inventory of critical laboratory testing reagents and supplies, and provide support for projects related to process improvement and inventory analysis.
Verify incoming shipments for accuracy, checking to see that quantities and part numbers are correct and that shipment is not damaged
Work with testing personnel to resolve order discrepancies
Utilize laboratory specific electronic supply chain technology to manage testing reagents and supply inventory
Work with Lab Medicine IT to identify and analyze data related to the improvement of electronic supply chain technology systems
Check and restock laboratory testing reagents and supplies on a regular schedule and as needed throughout the week
Participate in inventory analysis and assist with implementation of improvements in supply usage;
Receive orders into the Purchase Path purchasing system
Assist with outbound shipments using appropriate shipping methodologies
Assist with training new Supply Chain staff
Participate in special projects such as the implementation of new programs, equipment trials, inventory analysis, operational systems improvements and technology updates
Identify, collect, input and analyze data related to areas such as quality control and performance monitoring
Perform related duties as required
REQUIREMENTS: High school graduation or equivalent OR equivalent education/experience AND three years of experience in supply distribution or related department, including at least one year as a Unit Supply Technician I or equivalent.
