Wolverine Power Cooperative is looking for a Relay Technician to join our team at our Grawn or Reed City location!
Wolverine is a wholesale, member-owned generation and transmission electric cooperative headquartered in Cadillac, Michigan. Wolverine generates and transmits electricity to its seven member-owners to provide electric power to their 268,000 member consumers located throughout Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Incorporated as a not-for-profit cooperative, Wolverine's mission since its original charter in 1948 is to provide outstanding service to its members by delivering reliable, competitive power supply. Wolverine is governed by a board of directors elected by the member-owners.
Wolverine owns and operates seven generation plants, 184 substations, and 1,600 miles of transmission line. Wolverine is Michigan's leader in renewable energy and is poised for significant growth in the next decade.
As a Relay Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance and reliable operation of all protection systems at Transmission, Distribution and Generation plants during normal and emergency operations.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
An associate degree in electronic engineering technology or the equivalent from an accredited college or university with major studies in electrical protection or electronics, or demonstrated knowledge, training, and experience
Equivalent experience level of a NETA level II qualified technician, or have the education, experience, and training
Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical logic diagrams.
