RESPONSIBILITIES The purpose of this position is to calibrate and adjust equipment in lab or onsite in accordance with the customer and requirements; may assist in creating calibration procedures for new equipment. Perform scheduled calibrations & unscheduled corrective calibrations & repairs of industrial instrumentation (typically 4-20mA, HART, Fieldbus, or PROFIBUS loops).
Equipment examples include : Coriolis Liquid Flow meters, MFC's, Radar Level transmitters, D/P transmitters, I/P's, Pressure transmitters, RTD's, etc.
Equipment examples include : Freezers/Refrigerators/Incubator Temperature controllers, Table Top pH & Conductivity Meters, Balances/Scales, Tabletop Centrifuges, etc.
Perform data entry, report generation, closing of WO's, etc. with the department's calibration & maintenance Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.

High level of proficiency with "smart" instrumentation protocols required (i.e.: HART, Fieldbus, PROFIBUS, AMS Suite, etc.)
Ability to identify, and safely troubleshoot, both AC & DC electrical circuitry. Includes complying with department & company LOTO Job Plans and procedures.
Applied understanding of basic electronics theory (Ohms Law) is a must as well as proficiency in the use of hand-held & stationary measurement and signal generation equipment (Reference Standards).
Experience in the performing or the coordination of reference standard calibrations. Traceable to national or international accredited standards (e.g.: NIST). And from accredited calibration laboratories (i.e.: ISO/17025 accredited).
Requires good oral and written communication skills.
Possess a high-level of proficiency with Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Must work well in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently without supervision.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associates Degree (AA/AS) in scientific field of study preferred or equivalent related work experience. Minimum of four years of related experience and/or training.
Previous work experience in instrumentation and control, installing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing equipment or related equivalent.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Intermediate skills with Desktop publishing, Microsoft Office Suite and Online Help.
Familiarity with ISO 17025 and Laboratory Accreditation.
