Med-Aging Institute - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (20001802)
The Mora lab (http://www.vmi.pitt.edu/labs/moralab/) at Aging Institute at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking a Research Laboratory Technician who will work in a state-of-the-art, internationally recognized research program in the areas of lung aging, mitochondrial biology and fibrosis. Under the supervision of the PI and senior Scientist, the Technician is responsible for performing mouse studies and executing molecular biological and biochemical experiments with independence. The incumbent will be expected to troubleshoot technical issues, clearly document experimental protocols, data and activities in an electronic lab notebook, carefully interpret data, conduct necessary analyses and present data at internal meetings.
Frequent communication of results, issues, and needs with PI, other lab personnel and faculty and contribution to day-to-day lab management are necessary. This position requires experience in biochemical/molecular techniques such as cell culture, immunoblotting, DNA/ RNA preparation and plasmid constructions, qPCR, protein/protein interaction studies, and immunocytochemistry. Multi-tasking several experiments simultaneously and efficient time management is necessary. This position is located at Bridgeside Point 1, 100 Technology Drive.
Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
