The College of Lake County is currently searching for a full-time faculty member to be housed in the Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences Division. Responsibilities for this position include teaching courses in the Automation, Robotics, and Mechatronics department. . This position will be involved in the instruction of first and second year college level courses to a diverse student body during daytime, evening and weekend classes.
The faculty member will develop, prepare, and revise instructional materials as well as participate in program evaluation and curriculum planning and development. The faculty member will develop, prepare, and set up lab equipment as well as lab activities.
The instructor will participate in department, division, and general faculty meetings, serve on division and college committees, and participate in other forms of college service. Instructor is required to maintain an active program of professional development related to institutional objectives.
The instructor will utilize appropriate technology to deliver instructional materials, maintain grades, provide timely communications with students, etc. The instructor shall maintain appropriate office hours for student access. Maintain current knowledge of subject matter via professional organization membership, attendance of seminars, conferences and classes, and professional publications.

1) Bachelor’s degree in either: mechatronics, robotics technology, electro-mechanical technology, electrical engineering technology with a mechanical background, mechanical engineering technology with an electrical background or a closely related field.
2)Three (3) or more years of experience in programming and troubleshooting PLCs.
3) Three (3) or more years of experience in an industrial manufacturing facility designing, troubleshooting, and installation of automated equipment.

Competency in technologies commonly used in college-level instruction.
1) Three (3) years of teaching experience in education or industrial setting.
2) Experience in working with business and industry to assist in identifying training needs and developing pathways to employment.
3) Experience in starting up new higher education programs.
