The Simulation Technician collaborates with the simulation center team to prepare for and execute operational and technical aspects of healthcare simulation learning activities. The primary responsibilities for the Simulation Technician will include setting up for healthcare simulations, operating patient simulators, supporting and troubleshooting simulation center technologies, maintaining simulation center equipment and inventory, and occasionally participating in simulations as a standardized patient.
Primary Responsibilities :
Prepare patient simulators, simulation rooms, and related equipment for healthcare simulation activities.
Operate patient simulators and voice patient responses during simulations.
Operate audio/video systems used during simulation activities.
Troubleshoot and support simulation technologies.
Maintain the cleanliness and order of equipment, supplies, and simulation areas.
Provide regular maintenance for patient simulators, medical equipment, and related computer systems.
Participate as a standardized patient in healthcare simulations.
Develop and maintain the simulation center electronic medical record system.
Maintain and develop scenario setup documentation.
Associate’s degree is required in Healthcare or information technology related field.
Requires experience with: - Patient simulators - Windows and Apple computers - Peripheral healthcare equipment (e.g. IV pump), healthcare disposable supplies - Manikin moulage supplies (e.g. simulated blood)
Minimum Education: Associate Degree
Minimum Experience: 1 year
