The primary responsibility of the R & D Technician is to assist in the development of products and equipment by designing, creating, and/or installing various suspension components in order to achieve specific product design criteria. It is also the technician’s responsibility to assist in testing these products and recording the results in order to verify that all product design criteria have been met.
Responsibilitiesinclude but not limited to:
Assist in the planning and execution of trials to develop new products under the direction of the R & D Manager
Assist in inventing and the continual improvement of products; recommend new ideas to make improvements in the research process
Develop and improve procedures in order to optimize performance results and design aspects
Hands-on fabrication and installation of suspension components and systems
Keep accurate records; document all progress and findings including dimensional and bill of materials based information.
Create templates as needed for special custom parts
Assembling, installing and testing suspension kits and components
Vehicle alignments and general maintenance/preparation as requested
Confirm product performance by utilizing real world testing
Aid in managing supplies and material inventory
Responsible for clean-up and maintenance within the work area
Other projects as assigned
Associates Degree in technical field, or 3 to 5 years equivalent work experience
Advanced mechanical and automotive trouble shooting skills
Basic metal fabrication skills
Competency in mathematics
Basic electronics and software knowledge desirable
Ability to work independently and in group settings; multi-tasker
Occasional weekend and weekday travel is required
