Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is hiring for a Rotational Associate Engineer - Electronic position. At PPPL we develop scientific understanding and key innovations needed to realize fusion as a safe and economic energy source for the world. Engineers play a crucial role in this grand challenge of the 21st century working in close collaboration with world class physicists and attacking difficult scientific and technical problems. The Engineering Rotational program is an opportunity for enthusiastic graduates to gain the experience and the exposure they will need to prepare for future technical leadership. The program consists of four six-months rotations to grow your technical expertise through coaching, mentoring and training with some of our best engineers. You will experience a wide scope of engineering assignments across all phases of the product life cycle, including: technology development, analysis and design, fabrication, installation, experimental operation and more. Every six months, you will move to a new assignment that allows you to develop your knowledge of engineering, and to build new professional relationships.
We are looking for a team player with excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills, with a strong work ethic, leadership potential and a track record of academic achievement. You must be graduating with a minimum of a bachelor's degree by June 2020, or have graduated not earlier than June 2018. You will then be invited to participate in a first-round of phone interviews and then to a second interview with a panel of senior managers on site. Once recruited, you will be considered a full-time employee and will be eligible to receive the benefits offered by Princeton University.
The Associate Engineer will work under the supervision of an engineer to perform engineering work requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Prepares engineering documentation, various requirements documents, dsign descriptions, interfaces, calculations, reports, memos, drawings, etc. Oversee the fabrication, assembly and installation of equipment on the assigned projects. May oversee the work of 1-5 technicians in the fabrication and assembly of assigned work.
Bachelors Degree in Engineer is required.
Previous experience in an entry level position or appropriate graduate level study is highly desirable.
