TECHNICIA B ELECTRO-MECHANICAL , Plasma Science and Fusion Center (PSFC) , to join a multidisciplinary facility recognized as a leading university laboratory for developing the scientific and engineering aspects of magnetic and inertial confinement fusion and related plasma science and technology. Will assist with laboratory or research work and operate experimental and technical equipment under supervision of scientific personnel or technicians of a higher grade; move and assemble waveguide and coax, move and assemble electronic cabinets, and assemble and disassemble RF transmitters; and provide support for physics projects aimed at PSFC's core mission of accelerating the development of fusion energy. Projects include magnets, RF couplers, plasma facing structures, and optical systems. The PSFC has a tradition of relentless innovation. Will join a team of physicists, engineers, and technicians striving to build and operate complex physics equipment in an environment that is conducive to teamwork and offers an opportunity for technical skill development.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : graduation from a two-year day technical school (military technical training acceptable); ability to operate and maintain highly technical and complicated apparatus, work well with others, adapt to all assigned task, and follow safety procedures.
