Purpose The role of this position is the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and electronic systems for access control, CCTV, surveillance, intrusion detection systems, and other security devices at various client locations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Senior technicians perform testing, configuration, and installation, as well as preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial and detention-grade lock systems, access control, intercoms, and video surveillance systems. Install and terminate wires and cables. Perform troubleshooting of low voltage electronic, computer and electro-mechanical systems. Report and document work performed, completing forms as applicable.
Qualifications Must be able to pass standard background checks as may be required by our clients. Must have a demonstrated ability in security systems or a related field, with an eagerness to also use and retain new information. Able to lead and mentor entry-level technicians. High proficiency with electronics, circuits, relays and low voltage systems, as well as servers, workstations and networks. Interest and aptitude in software configuration, especially related to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), ladder logic programming and human-machine interface systems. Able to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams. Able to see and identify colors as appropriate to the work performed. Must be able to climb ladders and rise on lifts to work at significant heights. Able to lift and carry objects short distances that weigh up to 50 lbs. Possess a valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record. Able to travel over-night to in-state and adjacent locations. 50% overnight travel to be expected with the average duration being 2-3 days overnight, home most weekends. Occasional 4 day (10 hour days) work weeks will be offered as the schedule permits. Possess good written and verbal communications skills. Associates Degree or equivalent work experience in electronics, mechanical or electrical engineering, or related field of study.
