Description of Responsibilities and Duties
Description of Work and Competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities):
Electronic Resources Maintenance • Enter, update and remove records for electronic resources in A-Z list (Libguides), catalog (Sierra), locally maintained spreadsheets, discovery system (Summon), ezproxy, and link resolver (360 Link), to reflect start, termination, URL changes, coverage data, and other changes for electronic resources. • Test proxy access and update definitions as appropriate, communicate changes to library staff. • Troubleshoot problems with e-resources; communicate with a variety of vendors and support staff to resolve problems. • Communicate issues to library staff and patrons as appropriate; refer unusually complex issues to supervisor. • Following cataloging guidelines, review MARC records for e-resources for inclusion in the catalog and/or in the discovery system. Perform necessary adjustments to URL and metadata, and perform loading of records into catalog or discovery system as needed. • Assists with the collection and analysis of usage statistics for all electronic resources. • Complete projects within a project management framework. Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and consistency.
Database Maintenance/Cataloging • Bibliographic record maintenance • Run routine departmental reports • Vendor record processing and other cataloging tasks as assigned
Public Services • Assist Public Services team by staffing the service desk several hours per week
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in library services, office support, or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Bachelor’s degree • Experience with an integrated library system, such as Innovative Interfaces’ Sierra system • Experience with LibApps platforms, including Libguides, LibCal, LibAnswers, and LibInsight • Experience with management of numeric data in Excel or similar software, preferably in a library context • Experience with metadata transformation workflows, especially using MARCEdit

• Strong service commitment, as well as organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to take initiative, work both independently and collaboratively, handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and complete tasks in a timely manner • Skill in completing tasks accurately and with attention to detail • Ability to work well with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment • Excellent oral and written communication skills
