As the Senior Physical Security Systems Technician you will maintain operational readiness of physical security systems through installation, maintenance, and administration of Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Video Surveillance, and other related systems and software utilized by the Corporate Security Department.
In February of 2019 CenterPoint Energy completed an acquisition which added nearly 7,000 employees. Now you’ll have the opportunity to work with a dynamic security team to support our $27 billion-dollar company which has a footprint in 40 states.
Specifically, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Engineer and oversee the installation, maintenance and repair of physical security systems, programmable logic controls and other physical security related electronic systems.
Recommend improvement in physical security systems or procedures.
Perform risk analysis so that appropriate countermeasures can be developed.
Conduct physical security audits to identify potential vulnerabilities related to existing physical security systems.
Provide physical security system integration recommendations.
Design physical security policies, programs, and practices to ensure adequate physical security measures and in place relating to asset protection, alarm response, access card use, and other security needs.
Assess the nature and level of threats so that the scope of adequate physical security system mitigation measures can be determined.
Prepare, maintains and updates physical security procedures, physical security system drawings or related documentation.
Develop and reviews specifications for design and construction of physical security systems.
Outline physical security system criteria for pre-bid meetings with external security providers to ensure comprehensiveness and appropriateness for implementation.
Develop conceptual designs of physical security systems.
Monitor the work of external security providers in the design, construction, and startup phases of physical security systems.
Train personnel in physical security procedures and use of physical security equipment.
Test physical security systems for final acceptance and implement procedures for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the systems.
Perform root cause analysis on existing physical security systems to identify problems and develop action plans to resolve the issues.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 6 years’ experience in design, implementation and integration of physical security systems to comply with guidelines, standards and regulations.
Experience working with Genetec Software
Professional Certification: PSP or CPP
This is an office-based position located at our corporate office in downtown Houston, TX.
