Seeking an experienced BICSI Technician with experience planning, executing, and validating complex installation activities in telecommunications and structured cabling configurations. Primary responsibilities include performing planning for installations and determining installation standards; reviewing installation plans and artifacts for completeness and conformance to the specifications; and overseeing installation activities with a focus on quality control. Additionally, performs occasional installations and performs site reviews to validate configuration management records and resolve discrepancies.
Performs complex and unique assignments that require application of basic principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, mechanical engineering , electronic and electrical testing and physics. Designs, develops and constructs major units, devices and equipment. Develops new test procedures and measurement techniques and defines standards. Conducts tests and experiments to prove or disapprove the feasibility of preliminary designs. May train and oversee the work of lower-level technicians. Normally requires an Associate degree in engineering or a related science.
-15 years of experience with telecommunications installation
-Knowledge of fiber optic communications, switched networks, network management, and network control systems
-HS diploma or GED
-Ability to obtain BICSI Technician Certification within 90 days of hire
-BA or BS degree
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
