Bachelor Observatory research site.oPerform preventive maintenance on equipment and test, diagnose, adjust, and calibrate gas and aerosol sensors to appropriate standards.oUse electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, multimeters, logic probes, controllers, and calibrators to troubleshoot equipment malfunction(s) to system, board, or component level; use computer-aided diagnostic software and/or digital logic devices as needed to locate malfunction(s).oAssist with other electronic, digital, and mechanical projects in the laboratory in preparation for fieldwork.oUse hand and power tools such as drill presses, grinders, band saws, hand drills, and soldering guns to layout, fabricate, and test circuit(s).oAnalyze and monitor Mt. Bachelor Observatory research data streams.oMonitor calibration processes online for instruments at Mt. Bachelor.oEvaluate equipment specifications and make purchase recommendations.oCommunicate with technical support specialists about instrument repairs.oAssist students and faculty with operating research instruments in the research lab and at research sites.oProvide in-lab training for students and faculty in the safe and effective operation of instruments.oDevelop methods and procedures for proper operation of electronic equipment.oAct as coordinator of research lab and research site space, controlling supplies and layout and use of space.REQUIREMENTSoOne year of experience as an Electronics Technician 1 OR 3 years of experience as an Electronics Technician OR equivalent education/experience.
