The Director of Electronic Security provides oversight ofthe campus access-control system database, campus-wide planning/management ofelectronic security, and oversight and coordination of campus-wide videosurveillance. This position collaborates with Facilities Services, Office ofInformation Technology, Institutional Compliance, Academic Units, third-partyvendors and others across campus. The Director will be responsible fordevelopment or coordination of electronic security policies (including alarms,access control and video surveillance), billing, fees, and system maintenance.The Director coordinates installations of new Electronic Security devices(cameras and alarms or access control devices) with appropriate campusdepartments or third party vendors, and coordinates the direct installation oraddition of those devices to the appropriate electronic network with assigned(internal) employees.
This position provides direction and guidance to campusplanners on physical security projects including new constructions and majorbuilding renovations. The Director has direct oversight responsibilities forthe Central Alarm Manager, Alarm and Camera Technicians, Video Coordinator andan Administrative Support person.
Priorities for this role are oversight of security andsurveillance systems, input on physical security design; campus securitymonitoring; policy development and compliance review. The position will reportto the Associate Vice Chancellor of Public Safety.
