Luminate Broadband, a subsidiary of Yampa Valley Electric Association, is recruiting for a GIS Mapping and Data Specialist to help us with our broadband deployment.
Luminate Broadband is based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Steamboat and the surrounding area is home to practically every type of outdoor recreation one can imagine. You can ski, snowboard, snowmobile, hunt, snow-shoe, and plan hut trips in the cooler months. The warmer months bring mountain biking, road biking, fly-fishing, hiking, camping all without traveling far from your front door.
Responsible for the YVEA Fiber mapping system using NISC Mapwise software
Maintains the geographical information system (GIS) to ensure that the electrical and fiber system drawing and model, the associated database and connectivity, and the geographical background are accurate and current.
Plots, edits, and produces maps for fiber construction using the fiber management software. Produces versioned construction maps, bills of materials and splicing diagrams for construction personnel and contractors using the fiber management software.
Creates databases to satisfy information requirements for electronic maps.
Maintains connectivity models for Fiber.
Verify correct mapping information from staking sheets and maintain files with original staking sheets.
Verify and update tax district boundaries for the Accounting department valuation records.
Provides billing department with all new customer equipment location numbers.
Provides monthly data on services in place and miles of line.
Compiles outage data for outage summary reports.
Assists with integration of NISC products including Mapwise, SIS, ABS and CIS.
Works with Engineering Technicians to perform field checks of existing facilities and completed new construction when needed.
Works with Broadband Manager and Luminate Employees if requested.
Prepares and updates charts, graphs and record of system growth, productivity and quality of service.
Assists with the maintenance and creation of YVEA physical and electronic CAD drawings
Performs all responsibilities in accordance with YVEA Policies and Operating Procedures and the Wyoming PUC.
Associate Degree is preferred.
Requires proficiency in AutoCAD, Map3D, and Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, Access, ESRI, ArcMAP, and NISC Mapwise, ABS, CIS software.
Must demonstrate verbal, written, graphic-hand sketching, and simple drafting communication skills.
Makes non routine choices within established precedent and with limited supervision.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Shall be required to maintain confidentiality of information.
Personal characteristics shall include integrity, self-motivation, positive professional image, courtesy, and good attendance.
