The Computer and Media Services/Network Technician is responsible for providing direct technical and instructional support to students, faculty and staff at West Shore Community College, including campus-wide audio-visual, coordinated computer lab support, and Campus Network back-up. Coordinated evening coverage of Computer Labs/Help Desk is also required. This position reports to the Media Services and Learning Technical Coordinator and will support organizational goals by working collaboratively with members of the Department of Information Technology and other employees across all areas of Campus, and by demonstrating WSCC Core Values in the performance of the following duties:
Assist with the management of the Help Desk including electronic ticketing response, training materials, procedures, and a FAQ database for use by the Information Technology Department, Student Helpdesk Technicians, Faculty and Staff. Provide hardware, software, and network support to students, faculty, and community users; maintain security of computer laboratories, equipment and software. Work with other members of the Department of Information Technology to address Help Desk tickets.
Schedule and set-up AV services, public address systems and other media systems across Campus, including off-site locations, coordinating with the Media Services and Learning Technical Coordinator and Director of Theater and Performing Arts, as required. Provide final product in traditional and digital audiovisual formats, as requested. Manage AV equipment - coordinate repair and preventive maintenance, and establish maintenance schedules for AV equipment in tandem with the Media Services and Learning Technical Coordinator.
Configure, deploy, and maintain desktop images, applications, and virtual delivery methodologies across Campus. Develop and administer WSCC enterprise configuration management system.
Specify, configure, and maintain computer desktop hardware, in both the Windows and Mac environments, across Campus. Manage inventory, troubleshoot, repair, and assist with warranty management and replacement cycles. Assist with printer maintenance and replacement in educational labs.
Assist Network Administrator with the following: Design, install, upgrade, and configure network servers, routers, switches, modems, hubs, wiring and software to support the LAN/WAN requirements of the College. Assist with the administration of Network and Exchange e-mail accounts, backup/disaster recovery procedures, firewall, virus protection and other cybersecurity measures, VPN, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Network bandwidth monitoring, and other duties as assigned. Update, install, configure and support the enterprise wireless access points and controllers.
Associates degree in a relevant area of study (Computer Science, Network Services, Information Technology, or another discipline related to the duties of the position), or equivalent IT/Media work experience with a history of progressively increasing responsibilities.

Job related experience in a college or comparable academic setting.
Experience in Helpdesk support and management.
Experience with digital sound board operations and support.
Experience with Windows Service Update, Windows Server, Windows OS, Microsoft Office, Mac OS and software.
Experience with video/audio recording/editing tools, video live streaming and Extron or equivalent classroom control systems.
Experience with the use of educational technology for learning and learning support.
Experience in working with college level students.
Demonstrated competency in record keeping and report writing.

Salary range: $43,373 – $54,292
