Maintains a safe laboratory environment; sets up and dismantles labs and demonstrations for instructional use for physics courses; repairs/calibrates in-house electronic equipment; inventories and orders supplies for lab use; conducts evaluations of new equipment and computer software; designs, develops, constructs, repairs and/or fabricates lab equipment when necessary; maintains, collects, stores and arranges for the disposal of hazardous wastes generated in the lab; prepares various reports, such as: lab renovation proposals, budget expenditures, lab procedures, and equipment recommendations.
Requires an Associate degree or equivalent preferably in a technical area (including 2 semesters of lab-based college physics) and over 1 year relevant full-time work experience (including maintenance and repair of electronic equipment).
