This position provides opportunities to work in a fast-paced, challenging, diverse, and rewarding environment.RESPONSIBILITIESPurchasing, Reimbursement, and Travel:* Process, track and coordinate purchasing activities for the Division using Ariba and ProCard..* Apply UW and/or specific agency requirements to ensure compliance and expenditure allowability.* Maintain purchasing records in both electronic filing systems.* Exercise independent judgment and solve problems as they arise, working with vendors, faculty, and staff as needed.* Process and review travel reimbursements in Ariba, assist with travel arrangements as needed* Reconcile and review ProCard accounts.* Provide guidance to travelers regarding UW and sponsor travel policy, restrictions and procedures.* Process and review reimbursements for faculty and staff in Ariba.* Process and review field advance reconciliations.Budget Reconciliation and Recordkeeping: * Reconcile transactions for budgets using Financial Desktop; gather supporting documentation, reconcile discrepancies, and make corrections as necessary.* Assist in maintaining both electronic and paper based departmental filing systems.* Understand all relevant policies and procedures related to records management and communicate information to faculty and staff.* Assist with maintaining signature authority records.Financial Reporting* Update monthly budget expenditure reports.* Assist with other financial reporting needs as assigned.General Support: * Sort and distribute mail as needed.* Work independently on special projects as assigned.* Request and monitor submission of quarterly grant and contract certification reports (GCCR)Other related duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * UW Contract ClassifiedHigh school diploma, or GED certificate AND fifteen quarter hours or ten semester hours of college-level accounting or bookkeeping AND two years of full-time experience as a Fiscal Technician, or equivalent, including experience using accounting-related software; An Associate of Arts Degree, or equivalent, in accounting or business may substitute for one year of required experience.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: * Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.DESIRED:* Previous experience as a Fiscal Technician 1 or 2.* Three years fiscal record-keeping.* Experience with UW systems Ariba and Financial Desktop.* Familiarity with UW policies and procedures such as procurement, budget reconciliation, and records management.* Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.Application Process:The application process for UW positions may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
