Biomedical Lead Technician - Biomedical Engineering - Orlando
AdventHealth Orlando seeks to hire Biomedical Lead Technician who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year.
The BMET Lead Technician supervises activities of the Biomedical Equipment Technicians in the Clinical Engineering department. Assigns repair and preventive maintenance work orders to the technicians. Performs repairs, preventive maintenance, and calibrations on medical life support equipment including adult ventilators, high frequency ventilators, infant ventilators, heart lung equipment, intra-aortic balloon pumps, cell savers, anesthesia equipment, etc. Actively participate in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Working knowledge of theory, operation, and repair of medical equipment and systems.
Able to troubleshoot equipment problems to the component level where applicable.
Organizational/Interpersonal skills (Preferred).
Manufacturer training on specific medical devices (Preferred).
Associate's degree or two years concentrated training/education in Biomed, Electronics Technology, or Computer Science related field; or equivalent formal military training in Biomed, Electronics, or Computer Science related field.
Eight years experience as defined above (Preferred).
Supervisory experience (Preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
CBET - Certified Biomed Equipment Technician (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation - AAMI). (Preferred)

Performs repairs and preventive maintenance on the above listed equipment correctly and promptly, including documentation, with minimal backlog.
Performs annual and quarterly evaluations of technicians on time.
Ensures that work orders are completed in a professional and timely manner, following all acceptable hospital standards. Reviews open work orders of staff on a regular basis and works with staff to ensure their completion. Ensures that all other documentation and paperwork is completed correctly and on time.
Work effectively under stress, managing conflict and frustration of others in a positive and constructive manner.
Maintains productivity standards set by the department and works with staff to assure that the standards are maintained.
Follows all regulatory guidelines and safety procedures related to their job tasks as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned, to include adjusting one's schedule of work if necessary for the continued safety or convenience of our patients, guests and/or staff
