Electron Microscopist/Laboratory Technician positions. Two qualified candidates will engage in a range of research-related duties in the Neural Systems and the Human Systems Neuroscience Laboratories. Duties include: cutting of brain tissue, staining, assays, preparation of buffers and other solutions; preparation of tissue for electron microscopy and scoping of electron microscopic sections. Ability to interact collegially with members of the lab, and willingness to help train students and research fellows is expected. The Technicians will maintain records of lab orders, research notes and protocols and will be responsible for lab safety. Prior experience in neuroanatomy or pathology is desirable, but not prerequisite, and the qualified applicant will be trained. The position is ideal for candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent who wish to develop a career in research from a technical perspective, with the option to participate in projects that result in publication in professional journals. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
