SSVEC is currently seeking a reliable, detail orientated, organized, and self-motivated candidate to fill the position of Pre-Apprentice or Electric Meter Technician in Willcox, AZ.
As a Pre-Apprentice, candidates will spend 12 months developing the necessary skills to enter a 4 year apprenticeship program. If accepted in to the apprenticeship program, candidates are then required to complete 8000 hours of On-the-job training and a two year degree program in Electric Power Technology.
Minimum education requirements for pre-apprentice are high school diploma or GED. A keen interest in electrical and metering technology is desirable.
As an Electric Meter Technician, you will work in a team environment to provide technical support to the cooperative by maintaining revenue metering installations at a high level of accuracy and reliability as specified by cooperative and regulatory requirements.
Minimum education requirements for Electric Meter Technician are high school diploma or GED and a two-year certificate from college or technical school in electronics; Must have completed a 4-year apprenticeship in a related area and provide an Electric Meter Technician Certificate.
