Research Technician - Biomedical Engineering, School of Engineering - (19001328)
The Biomedical Engineering Department is multi-disciplinary, with significant emphasis on research in areas such as medical instrumentation, biomedical optics, biomaterials, and tissue engineering. With an active research and teaching program, Biomedical Engineering offers comprehensive education and research opportunities to graduate and undergraduate students, faculty, and industrial colleagues interested in these fields.
The Department actively coordinates and interfaces with other Departments, Schools, and programs at, and outside, the University to foster research collaborations at its facilities
Under close supervision of Principal Investigator, conducts a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols, which may include performing assays, tissue culture, electrophoresis, and other laboratory techniques. May also record test results, analyze data using basic statistics, maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, and monitor animal colonies
This Silk lab technician job exists to assist in the processing, analytical measurement, and characterization of biopolymeric material. The opportunity involves a collaboration project with an industrial partner involved with global consumer electronics and technology.
Minimum requirement is a B.S. in biomedical engineering or bioengineering or related background.
Some biological laboratory experience is required. Background in biomaterials.
