Corn Belt Power Cooperative has a need for a Communications Technician at our Humboldt, Iowa location. A successful candidate will need to be able to:
Install, modify, maintain, test and operate all communication equipment owned or maintained by the Cooperative in accordance with FCC rules and regulations.
Plan and implement a routine preventative maintenance program as requested and make recommendations concerning need and installation of new equipment for added facilities.
Trouble-shoot communication problems for the Cooperative, member distribution cooperatives and municipals.
Configure equipment using appropriate proprietary software.
Follow work plans requiring coordination with member cooperatives, local power systems or other departments within the Cooperative.
Operate a personal computer for programming SCADA and other communication equipment as needed or required.
Develop and maintain good relationships with member cooperative personnel and general public.
Make necessary interconnection prints and diagrams for new equipment additions and revisions.
Assist in establishing a system of inspection reports, maintenance forms, and prepare reports and records as required.
An associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or related field plus five years of electronics/communications experience is preferred.
Pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check are required.
