INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS SUPERVISOR
(50%) - To manage and coordinate the efficient and quality maintenance of Warren RECC’s fiber and communications systems including associated electronic devices and equipment.
(40%) - To manage the efficient and quality maintenance of electronic devices and equipment including electronic controls, SCADA system, test equipment, and other electronic devices requiring repair or calibration.
(10%) - To keep abreast of new developments in the fields of fiber installation and maintenance, communication systems and electronic testing procedures.
Supports Information Technology Manager in recommending new communications systems and methods of improving and maintaining existing communications systems.
Assists and provides direction and guidance to Communications Technicians in troubleshooting data, fiber, voice, SCADA, and all other communications systems.
Manages the installation, tests, and maintenance of various equipment and electronic devices including network, voice radio, telephone system, SCADA, some computerized equipment and test equipment.
Supervises the procurement and implementation of network and communication equipment as well as other electronic components.
Assists in planning for needs of the department in the areas of equipment, maintenance procedures, and calibration and with the overall design and upkeep of the SCADA system including all monitored points and displays.
Supports Operations Department in the area of dispatch to provide equipment and systems that will allow for uninterrupted service. This includes support of the SCADA system, voice radio and telephone system.
Assumes responsibility for maintenance of tools, transportation, and work equipment assigned.
Recognizes conditions detrimental to system operations and reports to the Manager of IT promptly.
Aids in formulation of the IT Department work plan and budget.
Works according to safety rules and policies adopted by Warren RECC, is responsible for own safety, and reports all accidents to supervisor.
Complies with traffic laws, regulations, and safe practices while operating any company vehicle.

POSITION: Communications Systems Supervisor
Associate Science Electrical or Electronic Degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
Five years progressively responsible experience in the operation and maintenance of the electronic devices used in the electric utility industry. Troubleshooting experience is a must in the maintenance of fiber, data and telephone equipment.
Must have knowledge and understanding of electronic terminology, circuit analysis, safety techniques, test equipment, SCADA, and their associated wiring systems. Must have ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems. Must be able to read schematics and wiring diagrams. Must have a thorough knowledge of first aid and must have successfully completed First Aid and CPR courses. Must be familiar with service area and have knowledge of mapping system. Should be willing to attend courses related to work.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Must be able to work in office buildings and in field situations. Must be able to oversee the execution of daily work assignments. Must be able to maintain accurate records. Must be able to work with others as well as individually.
Must be able to work or help in all types of weather. Some heavy lifting is required.
Must keep work areas and vehicles in a neat and presentable manner.
