The Boston University Electronics Design Facility ( http://edf.bu.edu ) is seeking a talented Electronics Design Engineer to take a lead role in the design of instrumentation for all types of scientific research.
The successful candidate must show considerable expertise and creativity in all areas of design for research electronics, including: analog circuit design; digital design with FPGAs and mixed-signal design. Experience with high-speed trigger and data acquisition systems such as those used in HEP experiments a definite plus. Working knowledge of C/C++ and python required.
Some experience with the following devices/tools required: * Xilinx Vivado tools and FPGAs, particularly Ultrascale/+ and Zynq * VHDL language for synthesis * PCB design tool such as KiCAD, Allegro, Altium
Experience in circuit assembly, fabrication and testing required. We believe that good technician skills are essential for success in engineering.
BS in Physics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent required, At least 3 years relevant work experience.
