Applications are invited for a technician position in the Hunter James Kelly Research Institute (http://hjkri.buffalo.edu) at the Jacobs School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo.
The candidate will work under general supervision, perform a wide variety of standard tasks or procedures to directly assist a research project or program with Dr. Shin. Incumbents are experienced and knowledgeable in program objectives; they will receive more direct supervision when experimental or unusual processes are involved.
This position will provide support for advanced, unusual or experimental activity. The incumbent may direct others in lower classifications in accomplishing tasks, perform more complex assignments requiring knowledge or experience in handling multiple variables or tasks.

Requires at least three years of experience in a laboratory environment and/or with laboratory animals. Must have working knowledge of typical tests or procedures used in a bio-medical research lab and must have familiarity with the operation of specialized apparatus or equipment.
We prefer candidates have a minimum B.S. in biochemistry or similar area and experience in electron and confocal microscopy samples handling.
