Responsible for core acquisitions duties of ordering materials in all formats, tracking open orders and processing received material. Provide customer service to faculty and students, as well as library staff. Essential functions: Order, claim, receive, and process material in all formats for the University Libraries. Review and prepare invoices for payment for titles arriving on approval and as firm orders. Update vendor status reports for ordered material, claim missing titles and contact vendors to resolve problems with receipt of titles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Extract and order GOBI electronic selections for assigned Subject Liaisons; share responsibility for selections placed on the Harrassowitz and AMALIVRE websites with the Acquisitions Financial Technician. Order out-of-print, used, foreign language, and audiovisual materials, as requested. FTP approval records and invoices from GOBI. 2.Participate in bi-monthly MARS rotation as primary/backup: printing requests, managing In-Process Requests/Personal Reserves/Rush requests and ordering Materials On Demand (MODS). Verify information on requests received. Create order and bibliographic records in Sierra and place orders with appropriate vendors. 3.Receive, check in, and quality check materials from assigned vendors: GOBI, Action! Media, Brodart, CD Baby, New Day Films and AMALIVRE. Processing of children's literature materials. Identify special instructions before passing other items for processing. Approve and pass invoices to Coordinator for review and approval for payment. 4.Order claiming; entering GOBI status reports into order records; regularly follow up on outstanding or unusual orders. 5.Create and send to Subject Liaisons files listing all GOBI print approval and e-approval materials received each week. 6.Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
2 years of college
1-2 years of experience.
Proficient in computer, accounting, organizational, and communication understanding and skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Library training or experience preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.
Ability to run a desktop PC running Microsoft Windows and Office (Outlook, Word and Excel), and an integrated library system.
