Director of Pharmacy Hospital HIMA San Pablo Cupey Rio Piedras Puerto Rico
As a full time exempt, Staffing Director of Pharmacy with Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS), at Hospital HIMA San Pablo Cupey, you will be the Pharmacist in Charge. As the sole pharmacist, you will oversee all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws in addition to entering and verifying orders, along with checking Pharmacy Technicians' work. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs with the assistance a full time Pharmacy Buyer and Pharmacy Technician. This position works full time, Monday-Friday, day shifts and provides on call coverage when the pharmacy is closed.

Facility: Hospital HIMA Cupey is a short term acute care hospital that is licensed for 60 beds with an average daily census of 25 patients and average length of stay of roughly 7 days. Services include a 24 hour Emergency Department, 5 bed Intensive Care Unit, Skilled Nursing Facility, Telemetry, Medical Surgical Units, Pediatrics, Operating Rooms , Anesthesia units and Radiology Services. The decentralized pharmacy is open from 8am-5pm Monday - Friday. HMS is the pharmacy order entry system along with CPOE, and cart exchange three days per week. Upcoming changes include implementation of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Comprehensive Pharmacy Services has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of the pharmacy. All pharmacy staff are CPS employees.

Qualifications: - Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) - Current Puerto Rico pharmacist license in good standing - Recent work experience as a pharmacist in a hospital setting; hospital pharmacy management preferred - Must speak fluent Spanish - Must reside in Puerto Rico - Must provide a Good Standing Certificate from the Puerto Rico Board of Pharmacy, Good Conduct Certificate from the Puerto Rico Police Department, copy of Certification and License.
