Maintenance Technician – Electrical Instrumentation / Wyandotte MI (1800681)
The Electrical Instrument Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all Electrical and Instrument equipment at the BASF Wyandotte Manufacturing site. This includes DC drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as PLC's, VFD's and HMI devices.
Perform electrical, instrumentation and/or automation maintenance repairs including electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC troubleshooting
Design and interpret electrical schematics, loop drawings and P&ID's. Perform troubleshooting, repair, calibration and preventative maintenance of all process control devices and maintain documentation.
Ensure that instrument/electrical PM's are completed per schedule and within the specifications of the process requirements
Gather and analyze technical data and recommend needed repairs or modifications
Maintain all drawings
Operate, maintain and install complex equipment
Calibrate equipment and maintain calibration
Provide technical support for equipment installation and repairs
Utilize a hand-held HART communicator to diagnose and set-up instruments
Troubleshoot and repair 480Vac 3-phase motor starter circuits
Actively participate in plant safety meetings. Works within BASF site and corporate procedures.
GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift up to 50 lbs., carrying up to 25 lbs.
Bending, kneeling, squatting, and crawling
Wrist turning and finger manipulation
Climb vertical, fixed ladders with ladder cages
Climb portable step and extension ladders
Push and pull up to 25 lbs.
Twist, turn and reach above shoulder level
Simple to firm grasping ability
Work within confined spaces
The Electrical Instrument Technician will work primarily day-shift working hours, with overtime and on-call availability as required.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You...
Associates Degree or Electrical Maintenance Trade School Certificate or Diploma
2 years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
1 year of troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of DC drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as PLC's, VFD's and HMI devices.
1 year experience complex electrical blueprints
1 year experience with email management (open, read, respond)
Must possess a valid driver's license
