As a Mail Services Specialist, you will receive and process incoming mail and packages using a PC with Microsoft Word applications. You will also be responsible for delivering mail and packages to end recipients using a box truck. You will utilize an electronic handheld palm unit for tracking and maintaining 100% accountability of your package deliveries. You will collect outgoing mail/packages from mail stations throughout the facility and transport them to the main mailroom in a timely manner using a box truck and mail carts. You will keep assigned work areas and mail stations clean, organized and stocked with the needed mailing/shipping supplies. You will be available to provide customer service by acting as a contact and resource for employees. This position is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing mail; may weigh and prepare letters and packages for delivery by another source as well as sort incoming mail for inter-office delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver mail, packages, copy products and stationary to assigned group/location per daily schedule. Ensure that all packages received/delivered are shipped and/or delivered same day, or alternatively consignee with be advised of next day delivery.
Check daily and replenish, if necessary, all mail and postage supplies.
Audit delivered items with delivery invoices. Approve or reject deliveries based on inspections. Check for contraband.
Ensure all shipped packages are adequately protected against damage.
Process shipment request with vendor, advising package owner of arrangements.
Apply appropriate postage amounts and required identification to outgoing mail and packages.
Stock copy rooms and provide first response for copier fleet production needs such as clearing jams (no tool repairs) and determining if a technician is needed.
May perform other duties to include but not limited to monitoring on-line production/copy requests, setup of conference rooms for client meetings, and answer telephones in a professional manner, direct calls, and take messages.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED equivalent required and a minimum of 1 - 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, shipping and receiving.
Where You've Been:
Minimum of one-year work experience in a customer service environment or a related field is required
Working in mailroom, warehouse or similar field for 6 months or more is preferred
High school diploma or GED required

Exercising personal growth and leadership, written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate in written and verbal English, including over the telephone and in person
Intermediate knowledge of PC and Microsoft Word applications required
Good math skills, detail oriented and typing at 35 wpm required
Ability to be flexible and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
Knowledge of automated receiving management system and equipment preferred Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
Frequent standing and walking
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
Must be able to operate a manual pallet jack
Valid driver's license and a clean DMV record required
Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
