Must be knowledgeable of the National Electrical Safety Code. Successful candidate must obtain Meter Tester certification through the Kentucky Public Service Commission.
Must be able to recognize matters of a confidential nature and keep them confidential. Must be able to carry out instructions, meet work schedules, and exchange work information as necessary to expedite workflow. Must have good communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact effectively with employees, members, and general public.
Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and mouse daily. Must be able to climb structures with permanent steps and have no objections to heights. Regularly lift and transport heavy objects up to 75 pounds, run conduit (10-15 pounds) and pull wire (up to 50 pounds). Ability to work in awkward positions while supporting weighted objects.
Must be able to climb a ladder while supporting weighted objects.
Must be able to work outside exposed to all weather conditions including cold below 32 degrees and heat above 100 degrees. Must work overtime when necessary including evenings, weekends, holidays, and during emergencies. Must be able to travel overnight and participate in designated training programs. Must maintain good attendance and punctuality record.

Must have an associates degree in electronic technology or equivalent from an accredited institution. Successful completion of an electronic technician training course or equivalent along with three years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an associates degree. Two years experience in the electrical utility field working with electronic control and metering equipment is preferred.
Successful candidate must live within a 30-minute drive to JPEC and possess a valid driver’s license. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
