ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES As part of the service team, the Radio Technician will perform work on a variety of radio communication systems. •Troubleshoot and repair two-way radio’s including Motorola and LTR Trunking systems, wide area coverage systems (i.e. Voting systems), Bi-Directional Amplifiers, Paging Systems and Motorola and Zetron Console Systems. •Diagnose and repair systems to include but not limited to VHF, UHF, 800 and 900 MGZ analog and digital infrastructure, mobiles and portable subscriber equipment. •Complete system programming following industry practices. •Familiarity and use of manufacturers programming software and Microsoft compatible computers. •Other duties as assigned On-going in house training and industry related training provided

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS •Certification in electronics and/or 3+ years’ experience working with Motorola, Kenwood and other 2-way wireless communication equipment. CET certification and/or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Associates degree or higher in Electronics helpful •Ability to read work orders, instructions, and schematics •Strong computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Physical requirements •Knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP, WAN/LAN technologies for networking, routers and switches. •Experience using test equipment, such as Network and Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, DMMs, RF Gen. •Experience with wireless equipment i.e.: base transmitters, antenna systems, microwave networks •Self-starter with the ability to work independently with attention to details, complex problem solving •Must possess excellent time-management and strong communication skills •Ability to remain organized while handling multiple projects/tasks •Professional demeanor and excellent work ethic, proficient in customer service •Ability to work a 24/7 on-call rotation. •Must possess a clean background screening to include driving record and CORI check |
