Involves the processing and servicing of a variety of operational, personnel, and financial transactions and services. Includes cashiering, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, recharge billing, travel / entertainment, gift accounting, collections, data collection and data entry, analysis, review and control, customer servicing, and reporting.
The ITS Billing Analyst position is responsible for providing coordination and oversight of the monthly UCSC campus billing process through the ITS enterprise billing system, and managing all aspects of the telecom billing review, analysis and payment of network, wireless, and telephone carrier-related invoices and recharge billing to campus customers for telephone, data center, radio, network and Info User Assessment charges.
Responsible for performing on-going detailed review and analysis of monthly charges billed through the ITS enterprise billing system for ITS recharge services, monitoring expenses, checking for appropriateness, and noting any trends/discrepancies. Serves as the point of contact for escalated complex billing questions and issues, providing guidance and expertise as needed for related issue management and resolution.
Manages the ITS divisional audit program and methodology and plays a key role in providing coordination and documentation for on-going financial ledger review and monitoring processes as part of the monthly fiscal period closing cycle. Partners with ITS Service Managers, technicians, and other colleagues to monitor, review and perform post-audit review of monthly charges along with a high-level annual review for services billed through the ITS enterprise billing system, providing data analysis, summarizing current gaps & identified areas of risk.
The ideal candidate uses skills as a seasoned, experienced financial service professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures, resolves a wide range of issues, and demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Ability to prioritize work and function independently under time pressure of deadlines with frequent interruptions and strict financial or systems deadlines.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, fund accounting, financial reporting, internal control systems, cost accounting, and budgeting and financial analysis.
Strong quantitative and reporting abilities with experience in database management, data gathering, and analysis.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
