Job responsibilities include: •Working with various Molding department employees as well as quality, tooling, and equipment suppliers to improve and develop equipment specifications and selection for Molding. •Work with cross functional teams at Baxter Cleveland and other Baxter entities. •Develop molding processes through scientific molding. •Troubleshoot and resolve problems with new and old molds, processes, and equipment through statistical analysis, new technologies, and Design of Experiments (DOEs). •Train Production Technicians how to set tools, learn controls, materials, shoot plastic and process. •Resolve quality and production issues by working with Mold Shop, Quality Control, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Maintenance. •Improve the quality of incoming molds and processes by working with the Corporate Design/Process Engineers through Design Reviews. •Work with equipment and material vendors to resolve machine and material issues and develop new processes and procedures. •Participate in starting up new machines and equipment through equipment related decisions, purchasing of equipment, debugging equipment, developing processes and writing instructions and procedures. •Maintain a safe work environment and good housekeeping practices. •Update and maintain product FMEAs. •Develop process and cost improvement/savings. •Actively support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and programs. •Understand, support, and contribute to Baxter's cultural values. •Comply with the Quality and Environmental systems by following stated policies and procedures.
•BS degree in a technical or engineering discipline with 3-5 years of manufacturing experience or AA degree or equivalent manufacturing experience (Ten plus years of experience or combined education and experience). Degree or experience in molding/plastics is highly desired. •Special consideration will be given to those who are Master Molder I & II certified. •Self-starter and work alone and in a team environment. •Must be adept at trouble shooting problems. •Ability to systematically plan projects. Project management experience a plus. •Good organizational and communication (written and oral) skills. •Strong inter-personal skills. •Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel •Ability to read and understand mold and part drawings. •Must be able to plan, coordinate and control costs on projects. •Knowledge of molding materials and tooling plus basic understanding of hydraulics, robots, electronics, DOEs and FMEAs is highly preferred.
